With brand beckham being stronger than ever, will dVb denim rise up to the occassion? With the massive success of dVb eyewear, dVb denim is coming in strong. This line does not have the crown design featured in Rock&Republic. However, as seen in the pictures, it will feature a star sign and will feature a very subtle dVb logo. The fit looks fantastic, and the material looks comfortable. It’s quite obvious that this line is going to serve as a “wonderbra” for the butt as Victoria Beckham puts it. With Victoria’s eye for detail and innate fashion sense, it’s almost illegal to say that her jeans suck. I would say that the star logo might be a little much, but then again, it’s quite iconic, like the crown logo. Those stupid chain retail stores are obviously going to come up with their sutpid FAKES.. (I don’t care how one may call it “designer-inspired”, but WHATEVER!!!) Ok, do I think that these would make it good in the denim market? I do think so, although the star logo might take a little while for some to get used to. I agree that it looks super huge, but then again, the crown design on R&R took a little while to get used to as well.

I hope they come out with a men’s line. I’m bored of the jeans in the current jeans market.

Update: Before coming out with this brand, the boss of the jean company that was supposed to work with VB had a meeting with her. VB had wanted a meeting with the boss, but the boss refused to have “another star put [their] name on a product”. The boss of the company told VB that if she was serious in coming out with a denim range, she would have to fly to Winnipeg to conduct a meeting. VB then flew out from Madrid and had the meeting with the boss, and hence, the denim range came forth. I know there are several celebrities who just put their name on something just to make money or just for the sake of it, but there are some who are obviously interested in fashion, and literally go through every single detail, including going to the factory, choosing the rivets, the wash, the colour, etc.

Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez

These 2 gorgeous women, in my opinion, are at the tops of the style ladder. They aren’t afraid to take risks, and always look impeccably put together. Sure, they may have loads of haters, but their fashion sense and style is undoubtedly one of the best. And let’s not forget that Jennifer and Victoria are friends and have been rumoured to start a fashion line together after meeting in Rome during Tom’s and Katie’s wedding. Also, Jennifer’s been giving some love to Victoria by wearing dVb sunglasses – which, incidentally, I adore! I say all this, even though I do think that Victoria should, erm, cover up her boob area a little some times.

In that picture, Victoria’s wearing that Giambattista Valli waist-cinching belt and that grey off-shoulder piece with her perma-tan and blonde crop. Jennifer’s wearing some YSL tribute pumps that have made their mark in the fashion scene.

dVb sunglasses

These 2 pairs are probably the most famous and most worn by the queen bee herself- Victoria Beckham. Now, these 2 are seriously large. Huge, gigantic, mammoth like. It made me look like a bloody fly, but VB still manages to work it. These were modelled over 60s icon Jackie O, who used to wear enormous sunglasses in her hey day. The logos of the sunglasses range is a simple 6 pointed star. Very classy and very subtle. The top one has a black frame and purple gradient lenses, while the second one is tortoise shell framed and brown lenses. £140 from Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols.

Now, these brown frame aviators with brown gradient lenses are a different story. I’ve always had a difficult time finding aviators that fit right. It took me ages to get the dark blue frame with black gradient lenses Gucci aviators. Back to these dVb aviators. The fit is perfect. It sits just right on my nosebridge, but does slide down a ilttle when my nose is oily. But it’s no biggie, as noses can always be made matte with a blotter. Wearing these with a dressed down, casual look works perfectly as it jazzes the outit up with the interesting studs on the lens. The trademark star logo is at the very end, and will not stand out. That said, the dVb logo is etched at the bottom corner of the left lens. Very subtle, very posh. I’ve got this, and it is perfect. £140.

These are something that I would like to buy soon. It’s an updated version of a retro disco look, and would work so well with top-jeans-leather sandals outfit. The gold frame screams out retro, and the small sign on the front makes it even more interesting. I really like this, but I do find that it’s a tad too narrow for my face.. Looks like I’ll have to lose even more weight to wear this pair. £140.
Update: Ok, I did buy this in the end. I love the gold frame that pops my skin colour and makes me look less serious despite my daily expression of no-smiling. I do feel a little retro when I wear this pair of sunnies, and I enjoy the looks I get – the looks that say “I’m sure I’ve seen there before.. Hmm..”. Haha. I do recommend it though.
